The facility

Established as a small horse farm in the 1970’s Randy Chamberlain and Laura Ferguson acquired the property and two resident horses in June of 2019. In a few short months, the barn has been made ready for occupants as well as all of the pens.

Paddock maintenance and improvement is underway. Horses have access to multiple paddocks each with their own loafing sheds. A stock tank with fish is available at the back of the property.

The arena has new lighting as of 2020 and the round pen is scheduled for renovation in early 2021

The Property

Backbone Ridge Stables is located northwest of Marble Falls in sight of Backbone Ridge which is a geological plateau in sight of the property. Just under 10 acres of rolling hills and ancient oak trees provide a peaceful setting for horses and people alike. 50 miles west of Austin TX, 75 miles north of San Antonio and 3 hours south of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, we are centrally located.  

 

Owners reside on the property as their homestead and provide 24 hour supervision of horses

Pets in residence include: Blaze and Smokey barn cats in training, Penny the pig, a mule, and an emu. All animals are accustomed to horses and are free range but restricted from pens and barn!
